Going Vegan

Yes, you read that right. I am [strongly considering] going vegan.
So, I read New York Best Seller, Skinny Bitch.
I have seen it many times and just thought it was a stupid title so I didn't ever consider reading it. And I must admit, when I went into the book store and asked the employee about it, I whispered the "bitch" part because well, lets just say I have a pretty clean mouth. haha. BUT I gave it a chance and boy, am I glad I did.
The book is very well written (aside from the unnecessary language) and they get their point across very well. The book is funny and entertaining and has so much information (Ill probably re-read it again next week just to see what I missed the first time around).
Anyways, it was enough to convince me that I needed to make a change. I have been eating a vegetarian diet for nearly 6 months and I am feeling great. But this book talked a lot about eggs, milk and dairy (all of which I have been eating) and it disgusted me enough to want to make a change.
So, here I am. I'm doing tons of research and trying more alternative foods for most of the dairy based products we were eating. It will be a process. We are going to use up stuff we have and replace it with healthier alternatives when the time comes. I'm also going to continue doing research to make sure I (and mainly Levi) are getting a healthy diet, full of all the vitamins we need (which is, by the way, possible on a vegan diet).
Join me on this new path in my journey.

Our Road Trip To Seward, Alaska

We took a road trip with weekend for my brother in law's basketball regions. After a blizzard, frightening weather and some avalanche warning, we got there safe and sound. It was a lot of fun! We went to two basketball games, a cute "earthy" coffee shop, drove around town a dozen times and went to the Seward Sea Life Center. Levi did great and I dont know what I would have done without babywearing. I wore my Sakura Bloom and my trusty Beco the entire trip and it was wonderful! I also enjoyed taking some pictures with my amazing camera during the weekend.
Here are some pictures:

We went to a cute little "earthy" cafe that used to be a small church. It was adorable.

My favorite part about babywearing- I can kiss him whenever I want.

Walking around the town- Loving all the snow
Passed out during the drive
Adorable little red church

Eating a snack before going to the Sea Life Center

Watching the Sea Lions

Large, creepy building in the middle of a neighborhood
Beautiful view

Hanging with my boy during the award ceremony

Levi "plays in" the snow

Living in Alaska, you would think we would be outside all of the time playing in the snow, making snow angels and building snowmen... Oh, but you were wrong.

Levi is 11 months and has never sat in or touched the snow. He has seen the snow and felt it on his face when we walk to the car but he has never really experienced it.

Each month, on the first, I do a photoshoot with Levi. This is his 11 month old photoshoot

Hmm... What is this stuff?
Not impressed
It feels cold

Okay, I think Im done
Get me out of this
I hate this. Why do we live here?
Annnnnd... that was the end.
