Newest home photos

Living room: This room is pretty complete... I may put some more candles on the mantle and we may get some type of furniture for next to the front door but Im pretty happy with it.

Levi's Space Room: We decorated his room based on his favorite book "Joey and Jett Go To Space".
Steve cut out all the rockets out of plywood and painted them. He also made Levi's bed frame.
Almost complete: We may hang some planets above the chair and put some shelves and possibly some pictures up.

Master bedroom:
This is our room and where the new baby will be staying :) I co sleep with my babies anyways so I doubt the cradle with be used all that much but it will be nice to have somewhere safe and Levi-free that the baby can be in :) (Plus how adorable is it, I couldnt resist).
Cradle: I bought on craigslist and painted
Our bed: Steve made the "floating" frame. Bedding is from West Elm
Side table: I refinished and painted
Frames: I bought black and creme frames from Urban Outfitters and re painted (to match the flying birds I painted on the opposite wall)

Our home

So we moved in early July and we were able to paint (we are still renting) and we were so excited. Here are some photos as we work on our home!

So this is our home as of October 15th: :)

Living/dining room:

This is obviously before we put up photos and shelves (and the house is a mess) but the shelves are on the wall to the right of the fireplace :)

Master bedroom (also where the cradle and changing table is for Little Bean-coming Feb2012)

A Beautiful Day...

Last week, when I was 17 weeks exactly we went to my appointment, heard my Little Beans heart beat and then we had a fun photoshoot at a beautiful location: Here are some of the photos

Im baaaaaaack

Okay so Im back. Its been far far far too long. I got way caught up in photography for a while and had 5 weddings over the summer. It was way too much and I got burnt out.
I quit.
Well.... Im taking a break. I have many reasons for this and feel its best for me and my family now.
With that being said. I have some pretty excited news. A LOT has happened since June. And when I say a lot, I mean A LOT.

June was absolutely crazy.
First, Steve went out on his own with his drywall business so that was very stressful and put us in some debt but we knew it was a sacrifice that would be worth it in the end.
Then, June 10th I found out some very very very exciting news:

If you know us well, youd know we've always wanted a large family and to have all our kids close together. I remember after Levi was born I said "Itd be ideal to wait until he's 6 months but I definitely want to get pregnant before he's 9 months".
HA.
God must have had different plans.
So 26 months after having Levi, I found out I was pregnant with our Little Bean [due 2.21.12] and we are beyond excited.

So, not even a week later, the guy upstairs flooded his condo (at 11pm at night) and destroyed most of our ceiling in the kitchen, living room and bathroom. We were moved out within 3 days and were homeless for a short time before finding our new awesome condo. Its a working progress but Ill add more photos of that later.

So anyways, those three things happened in June and it was a lot. We have questioned Gods timing and wondered why but we know He has a great plan and we cant wait to meet our new baby.

DIY Lamp

We bought a very plain, cheap lamp from Target and used some stencils from one of my favorite books Printing By Hand and walla! A very cute, unique lamp. It was super easy and took no time at all.
And I love how it looks

It was pretty easy, at cheap.
1. Buy lamp/lamp shade, acrylic pain (spray paint would be a lot easier) and sticky wall (or contact) paper.
2. Draw stencils of whatever you want onto the sticky paper and cut it out
3. Place on lamp shade
4. Paint or spray paint evenly,
5. Let dry (keep paper on)
6. Pain lamp base. I mixed a variety of browns to get the wood "feel". I used acrylic and it worked fine.
7. Paint the shade another one or couple coats to spread evenly

Annnnd.... thats about it. Wait for it to dry, pull the stencils off and you've got an awesome lamp!

Sleepy Beauty

orrrrr "sleeping handsome" I suppose.

Regardless, check out these pictures I took of Levi sleeping in his big boy room

I snuck in his room late one night and took these in the pitch black (which is a little more challenging then you'd think). So the light is coming from my speedlight on my camera. He didnt wake up, which amazed me, and I got some great shots.

The best part about the whole thing is that Levi loves two bears which are very very special to both me, and my husband. I always wanted Levi to have a special animal or blanket but it never really happened. Then, as he got older he found a love for these two bears, Teddy and Fuzzy.
The special part is that Fuzzy was actually Steves as a little boy and Teddy.... well, you guess it, was mine :)

So he had Teddy in the front....

and Fuzzy in the back
